Blossom through Kaleidoscope

This is a repeat pattern rather than a single circular mandala, and it is built the way a kaleidoscope works: one small unit, a swirl of petals around a flower, reflected and repeated until it fills the view. Rows of black-and-white diamond tiles cut across the colour and give the eye somewhere to rest.

Repeating pattern has deep roots in Indian craft, from block-printed textiles to the kolam and rangoli drawn fresh at the doorstep each morning. Anusuya's version is joyful and full of movement, with every petal shaded so that the pinwheels seem to turn. Fine vertical lines at the top and bottom edges frame the pattern like the border of a woven fabric. Anusuya describes it as a piece of wonder and play, and it brings a lively brightness to a room, whether that is a child's bedroom, a playroom or a creative workspace.
