Leaves of Ever Colorful Season

This is one of the freer, painterly pieces in the collection rather than a structured mandala. Each monstera leaf is outlined and then flooded with colour that shifts from teal to yellow to red within a single leaf, so no two are alike. The slits in each leaf are left bright, and the background is dotted with small pale spots like light falling through a canopy.

The idea is the passing of the seasons, and the colours carry it: the same leaf shape appears fresh green in one place and autumn red in another, as if the whole year were growing on one plant.
